shilpapulapaka Interesting to hear music based on a visual thing like colours. Favorite track: Red Dust.

Disguises 03:40
As blue fades to grey and grey dims to dark grey I just sit and watch I just sit and watch As orange burns to red and red falls to rust I just sit and watch I just sit and watch As flesh sinks to ashen and ashen fades to grey I just sit and watch I just sit and watch I'm watching you It's played before our eyes It's us in a disguise With painted face and tired eyes It's us, in a disguise (Colour Piano) It's played before our eyes It's us in a disguise With painted face and tired eyes It's us, in a disguise (X2)

Noir 02:52
Caught in this spiderweb Black and white flashes by Shadows as long as day In my film noir I, I could have been the star Should have been so far So far away from here. Flicking through photographs Sepia images Greyed and then fade away In my film noir Speak to the man upstairs Tells me it's time to run Drive down to little farm In my black car I, I could have been the star Should have been so far So far away from here. Lit by your cigarette Glaring back in the dark Knowing just what to say You sell your side Caught in this spiderweb Black and white flashes by Shadows as long as day In my film noir I, I could have been the star Should have been so far So far away from here.

Red Dust 03:34
It's getting dark and my battery is low Your world looks different behind this rusted sky One On O One On O Oh Phobos is rising In the west My red light's flashing Time to rest One On O One On O Oh My red light's fading My battery's getting low

White Sands 03:42
Crossing the horizon My footprints fade Imprints they linger For lack of waves You're not the same I'm not the same Crossing these white sands Glancing back at the past I feel a loss of weight You're not the same and I'm not the same Crossing these white sands A life time of footsteps Scrutinised by night Old suits they fall from me And are claimed by sand You're not the same I'm not the same Crossing these white sands Lifetimes spent shadowed Head into the light

about

The songs are thematically connected by colours. Each song, apart from disguises, starts from the idea of a colour or an association to them.

It was also a bit of a return to using the guitar after working primarily on synths for the rest of 2021.

The 5 track EP is going to be released on a limited edition run of CDs with Deliberator records and will also be available for download.

Some reviews of E.P.4

"The EP retains a thought-provoking, challenging air throughout, but those who pick up that particular gauntlet, will reap the rewards. There’s an at times eerie, early Peter Murphy feel about the vocals that drift in and out with perfectly timed, split-second precision." London Peaky blog

"All the colours of the rainbow(Again not all)covered musically by an idea of an association of them is a really good idea with all the influences and instrumentation

Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐" Inbetweeners blog

"This EP is very well sonically constructed. It all fits together as if we are on a tour of the land of the giants via a time
tunnel." Kiffie the Dreamer

Solo artist, guitars, synths and pianos. Genre nomad. Concept driven noir pop
My songs are scattered with found sounds. I call them aural bon-bons.
