about

This song was written upon hearing that Mick Khan of Japan had died and just the feeling that more and more of my inspirations were going to go. I finally got around to properly working on it after the horrors of 2016. The lyrics speak for themselves, but the music was an attempt at a sort of 60s psychedelia, definitely the Small Faces and the Kinks late 60s work.
Why? Well, it was an attempt to return to childhood I suppose and British psych has always had that element. The video, which can be found on Vimeo, exemplifies this aspect.
Also, I liked the freedom of playing different instruments. The drone is the sound of me attempting to play accordion.

lyrics

LYRICS

Wake up in the morning drag a sheet across my head
Turning on the radio, find another heroes dead.

Chorus
That heroes gone, another one (and on and on and on)
This living test, whoever's next

Walking to the bus stop, feel the rain against my face
Resenting every moment of this life in the rat race

Chorus

You pinch yourself, though it's not a dream
The colours merge, the TV screen
The retro's later on today.
